We arrived around 2:30pm in Norwich. The Signing session was held in a shop called Kulture Shock. This shop also had an own cafe
nearby so this was the only place where Bruce held a kind of panel where you were able to ask questions. To get into the panel you had to order Bruce's book through the internet. (I was so glad after I had found out about this
panel a week before this whole trip started, so we were able to order 2 books). First we went to the Kulture Shock Shop to get our ordered Books and asked how the whole panel thing would go (because it was in a different
building and so). The Panel was announced to start at 6pm and so we had lots of time to kill. We were back at the Kulture Shock shop around 5pm. There we met Brian who brought a few more of Bruce's books because this
shop had just a few books left without these pre-ordered books. I told Brian and one from the shop that I have a few books in the car, already signed, so they just have to find people fitting to those names. Then Brian told me
that they had been here since 3pm already and that Bruce was still at the hotel ... sleeping. And I thought, Oh yeah... sleep would be very nice now because I started to get a little bit tired! At 5:30pm we were allowed into the cafe.
We got a place in the second row. So we sat there for half an hour, waiting for the panel to begin. And I was getting more and more tired. I guess this was because of the lack of sleep the last two nights. In the panel
were about 50-60 people. The room was too small to hold more people. And so we waited, waited and waited... A few minutes after 6pm the owner of the shop (I guess he was the owner, at least he looked that way!) announced
that Bruce is finally here and is about to enter the room (something like that). So everyone looked around (because the door was in the back) and applauded. Bruce came into the cafe. So he went from the back to the front
to get on the "stage".
I guess lots of the people didn't know what to do on this panel because there were only just few questions asked. I asked one of the first questions and when Bruce looked at me he said
to the audience: "Hey look, these two women have been to all the signings I have done except the Ireland ones." And while he said that he pointed at us. In my mind just came the words like "Uh-oh" and I sank
down in my seat because I normally tried not to tell everyone that I was going to every signing because people tend to call you crazy really fast! ;-) I asked 3 questions during the panel:
Question: Do you plan to make a book tour in the US? Answer: No, nothing planned. The only Signing he has done in the US was the signing in LA. Question:Are there any TV project going on where you're in it?
Answer: No, nothing! Question: Any plans for you to go to a convention here in England or Europe? Answer: No. In the middle of the panel Bruce was just telling his story about his Star Wars Audition where he
"totally failed" to get the role because he kind of asked George Lukas to bring him coffee. He thought George Lukas was an assistant. Then Brian came to the front to tell him that he really has to call his manager
immediately. I guess that Bruce's manager called at the beginning at the panel and Brian told him that Bruce would call him back in half an hour or that the manager told Brian that Bruce has to call him back in half an hour. It
sounded kind of that way. So Bruce told the audience that he really has to do this phone call then. That there may be an assignment waiting for him. Then he said joking that maybe George Lukas wants him for one of his projects.
But I was very surprised that he didn't go into another room or outside. And so he did that call in front of the whole audience. And Bruce tried to finish his "Star Wars Audtion Story" while he waited for the phone
connection. And the phone call went something like that: "Yeah.... hmmm.... yeah.... aha.... ohho.... Oh, Melissa was also in one episode.... aha.... hmmm....." Then Bruce said to the audience: "They want me for
Outer Limits" then he went back to the phone call.: "Yeah.... here's about 50 people waiting for me, so hurry......yeah.... aha....hmm..." Then he asked the audience: "Should I take it?" and of course
everyone screamed "yes". And then he said to his manager something like: "Have you heard? I have to take it!" Then he told his manager that he will call him back again after this panel and he hang up. He
also said that his manager has told him to make this signing tour because you mostly get the assignments when you're out of town. I don't know when exactly he said that... before, during or after the call. I also can't tell if
his manager has really told him that or if it was just a kind of joke. So after the call the panel was nearly over. Around 7pm ended the Panel and Bruce went into the shop to do the signing.
