UK Book Signing Tour 2000 Glasgow

Forbidden Planet
Glasgow
Saturday, 29th January - 5pm

In the end we killed a little bit too much time because we were running late.
We arrived at the Forbidden Planet around 5pm and this was the first time we were standing at the end of the queue. So it just was another experience for us! ;-)

Standing in the queue we met Miriam, a friend of Ruby. It was a nice... and long time until we were at least able to see the Forbidden Planet. And again.. it was a little bit cold outside.
A nice thing was when a person stopped and asked what we're standing here for?? And someone answered: "Chips" (French Fries). The person just shook his head and left really quick.
After 1 1/2 hour waiting we were finally standing in front of the Forbidden Planet door. So it was just a matter of minutes until we would be able to get into the warm store!

When I came into the shop Brian welcomed me with the words: "Ladies and Gentlemen, Anke is about to enter the store." I wish I had asked him about where the red Carpet is...
Brian told me that they weren't late this time. Like they were in Newcastle. And I told him that "you weren't THAT late in Newcastle. You were really late in Sheffield." But Brian said that they weren't late in Sheffield....
And so I had a nice little discussion with Brian about where they were late. In the middle of the
discussion Bruce asked what we are talking about. Brian told him that I think that they were late in Sheffield. Bruce just said "aha" and went back to his business.

Ruby was the first one from our group who got her Book signed. She asked Bruce to write her name on it. And Bruce began to sing the Kenny Roger's song: Ruby, don't take your love to town! Ruby told him that he has done that now every time she has met him and wanted a personalize pic. ;-)

Then Miriam got her Picture signed and also got a picture together with Bruce.
I got first a book signed for someone and then I layed a picture in front of Bruce and asked him to sign that for me. On this pic were 2 pictures of my truck and above the picture stands: "Keep on trucking with Bruce!!!" (For the people who don't know me: I love to drive Trucks! A little one, but it's a truck! And that's my nice little hobby!) He looked at it and asked: "What's that???" And I told him that this is my other hobby. Driving this Truck. And I told him that "nomally I would have driven this whole tour in my truck... but I haven't done it because people would think that I'm crazy!!" I can't tell you what kind of look I got from him.  ;-)
So he signed the picture: "To Anke, Truck You, Bruce Boxleitner" When I read the "Truck you" I had to laugh and Bruce also began to laugh. The people behind us asked what's up and Bruce held the picture up.

Then Bruce asked me if we're going to Ireland and I told him: "No, we don't! You know, I AM a poor student and I can't afford the ferry and the hotel and I haven't found anyone who wants to give me the money for this trip!" So I said Good Bye and wished Bruce a nice Ireland-Trip!

So after we left the Forbidden Planet we drove back to Ruby's house and we had a nice evening there! We stayed stayed there until tuesday morning.
